Reading Subscriptions
Our son loves receiving mail so when he received a magazine, addressed to his name, for the first time, he was excited for more. His grandma bought him a subscription for the National Geographic Kids which we first read to him and which he later started reading by himself. We also subscribe to the free Lego magazine which is full of games and activities and great for practicing reading. I've found a few other interesting reading subscriptions which I listed below. I also listed digital learning to read subscriptions which have been such a massive help with his reading. The reading app we've been using can be accompanied by workbooks as well.
The NatGeo Kids Magazine is great for kids who love animals. From wildlife to space, geography to the environment, it has all the incredible stories and dazzling images you'd expect from National Geographic packed into bite-sized chunks.

We've been getting this magazine for over 2 years now and our son's always excited to find it in the mailbox. First we read it to him, now he reads it himself!

You can choose from 3 different stories, the one that's best for younger children is called 'Folktales of Gaspaar'. Folktales have been handed down since the beginning. They hold wonder, fun, and simple truths that span time and culture. Join young Prince Max, gathered with the children of Gaspaar in the royal kitchen to hear tales of old from the good cook.

Another UK based magazine is the Aquila Children's Magazine. I personally love the design - and the fact that it's for older kids too - they recommend it for children aged 8 - 14.

Subscribing to AQUILA children’s magazine provides parents with a valuable resource to support their child’s learning and curiosity. The magazine offers educational content in an engaging and entertaining format, fostering a love for reading and exploration. AQUILA covers a variety of subjects, encourages critical thinking, and promotes creativity, making it a wholesome addition to a child’s developmental journey.

PIP Magazine isn't technically a kids magazine but somebody recommended it and said it's a great magazine for the whole family.

The aim of Pip Magazine is to share ideas, information and inspiration about living more sustainably using permaculture principles. A visually beautiful publication, our gorgeous illustrations and photography inspire people to pick up a copy, and while flicking through it will find something that inspires them to make positive changes in their lives.

ABC Reading Eggs makes learning to read interesting and engaging for kids, with great online reading games and activities.
And it really works!

Children love the games, songs, golden eggs and other rewards which, along with feeling proud of their reading, really motivate children to keep exploring and learning.

We love reading eggs, our son learned so much from it and was always happy to do it. Later we bought the reading eggs books which he really likes as well.
